A sophisticated little French monkey joins Juliska in our Petit Singe Collection. Monkeys have long been depicted in European art as symbols of ingenuity, spontaneity and an irrepressible sense of fun. We think our little monkey also has a timeless, irresistible and unexpectedly elegant quality.
This stoneware duplicates the mottled effect of Octavia, using the same color palette and octagonal and round shapes. The clean, refined and richly textured look of both patterns makes mixing and layering a breeze.
Petit Singe is available in Whitewash, Cucumber or Portobello. Hand finishing highlights the edge of the plates as well as the monkey and palm frond details.
Made in Portugal. |

This exquisite design was inspired by hand painted 18th century Chinese wallpaper in the dining room of the Lightfoot House at Colonial Williamsburg. The decoration incorporates blossoming trees, hanging baskets of flowers and exotic birds. These were common features in Chinese inspired decorative arts, known as Chinoiserie, which were popular in Europe and the Colonies in the 18th century. |
